App Rack

Last updated: April 11, 2026

App Rack is a macOS menu bar app for collecting, organizing, launching, and customizing shortcuts to apps on your Mac. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your data.

What the app accesses

The app only accesses app bundles, folders, and settings files that you explicitly choose by adding apps, dragging items into the app, or importing and exporting settings. It does not scan your Mac or open files unless you choose them.

How your data is processed

App organization, custom names, categories, usage tracking for in-app features, keyboard shortcuts, and settings import or export are handled locally on your device. Your app list, bundle identifiers, and settings files are not uploaded to my servers for processing.

Internet access

App Rack does not require an account or an internet connection to use its core features.

Data collection

I do not collect personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or tracking data through App Rack.

Local storage

The app stores preferences and app-management data locally on your device, such as your saved app shortcuts, categories, menu bar appearance settings, keyboard shortcuts, and optional usage statistics used by the app itself. If you export settings, the exported file is saved only to the location you choose.

Notifications

App Rack may request permission to show local notifications for actions such as successful settings import or export. These notifications are generated on your device and are not used for tracking.

Sharing

I do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
